Function and Purpose:
The Plan Commission generally considers the following items, as
applicable, on every application received:
Compliance with present zoning ordinances.
General effect on population, schools and services.
General impact on neighborhood streets, traffic,
utilities and drainage.
Compatibility with surrounding area, neighborhood or
property.
Whether the project is in the public interest:
Considering the need for the particular service or
industry provided by the project.
Considering whether the landscaping is
environmentally compatible with the area of the proposed project.
Considering the adequacy, location and screening of
parking around the project.
Considering the aesthetic design of the building.
Considering if the additions or alterations proposed
for existing buildings will conform to the standards for new
buildings.
Probability and extent of damage to neighboring
properties or injury to persons in the immediately affected area.
Prior decisions of the Board on conditional use applications:
Relating to density for particular type of building
such as apartments.
Relating to density for a particular use of building
such as restaurants.
Relating to aesthetic compatibility of exterior
elevations as dictated by location.
Relating to the minimum size of buildings established
for the area.
The general desirability of the development in the
applicable zoning district.
Plan Commission meetings are regularly scheduled for the 1st Monday
of any month. Contact the Village Clerk to be placed on any
agenda.
All meetings open to the public and held at the Rochester Municipal
Building, 203 W. Main Street, Rochester, Wisconsin, unless otherwise
stated.
Agendas are posted 24 hours in advance of any meeting at the
